Nintendo DSi Information That You May Need

Some useful Nintendo DSi information may be exactly what you need before you gout and splurge on it. After all, its predecessor the DS Lite is a great gaming console and why then should you buy a DSi if you own a DS Lite already? You may want to read this article if you wish to know in a nutshell, how the DSi has improved over the DS Lite.

The first thing that you will notice with the DSi is its thinner casing. At around 2.6 mm it is about 12% thinner than the DS Lite. It is thinner because the GameBoy Advance cartridge slot is no longer there.

Another useful piece of Nintendo DSi information is regarding the new 3.25 inch dual screens. Even with the larger screens the DSi has the same casing dimensions as the DS Lite. But what the new screens provide is and amazing 17% greater visible screen area though this has a slight adverse effect on the battery life. This can also be attributed to the fact that there are five adjustable brightness settings available.

If you are looking for good sound quality in your handheld console, then the DSi will not disappoint you. It is equipped with dual stereo speakers and also an AAC media player. So now you can listen to your favorite tracks in great sound quality provided that they are in the AAC format. The music files can be sourced from the new integrated SD card slot.

But Nintendo DSi information that will really make you go bonkers is about the new cameras built into the device. This is a ‘first’ for a Nintendo device and there are actually two cameras onboard! One faces the user while the other is bang on the outer casing. So you can snap great pictures of yourself as well as your friends in the blink of an eye.

There is also software onboard that allows you to morph the photos you have taken and you may easily be able to see how you look in a green goatee without actually having one! The 0.3 megapixel resolution of the cameras clearly indicates that Nintendo has included this feature for you to have more fun with the DSi and not for serious photography.

The DSi is also power-packed under the hood with the processor running at 133 MHz, almost twice the speeds of the Ds Lite. It is also equipped with 16 MB of RAM memory and 256 MB of storage memory which is further expandable.

Add to that the ability to connect to the internet and you have a great gaming console in your hands.

Hopefully with such a lot of Nintendo DSi information you will now be thinking about when to get your hands on one. Well, the sooner, the better!
