Xbox 360 was invented and created by Microsoft, and it is a seventh generation of gaming devices. This console is in the same genre or in the same quality range as Sony’s famous Playstation 3 and Japanese product Nintendo Wii (very popular nowadays). Millions of gamers have chosen Xbox 360 because of its performances, design, and quality and off course, the range of games you can play once you become a proud owner of this gaming device.
In 2008, at the popular Game Developer Conference, Microsoft announced to the public that they are preparing to launch a series of games (more than 1000 games, to be precise) for the Xbox 360, till the end of the year.
This doesn’t come as a surprise because Xbox 360 has reached a software attach rate per console, of 7.5 games, and that is a spectacular record among consoles, for instance in EU the rate was 7.0 and the competition had 3.8 (Playstation 3) and 3.5 (Nintendo Wii).
At the launch of Xbox 360, the console included 13 games in Europe and 14 games in North America. Best selling games was sold in more than a million copies worldwide, and it was (in the 2005) Call of Duty 2. In the first year of consoles life in the market, 5 more games were presented for sale: Gears of War, Saints Row, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Dead or Alive 4 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Instant bestseller became the game Gears of War. As a consoles best seller it was sold in more than 3 million units. In 2007, when Halo 3 hit the market, it became an instant success, and new record was set – 8.1 million units were sold, worldwide.
